How Ashland Toastmasters Works

Toastmasters learn by speaking  and working with others in a supportive environment. Our Toastmasters Club is made up of 15 to 25 people who meet once a week, for an hour and a quarter. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to speak.

· Meetings begin with a short introduction about basic meeting procedures.

· Two members present prepared speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters manuals. Projects cover such topics as speech organization, voice, language, gestures, and persuasion.

· Speakers are critiqued by an evaluator who points out strengths of the speaker and offers suggestions for improvement, thus enabling growth.

· Members then are called on to present one-to-two minute impromptu speeches on assigned topics.

We meet every Thursday morning at 7am at the Ashland Civic Center, 1175 East Main. Come join us to learn to be a better speaker and have fun doing it!
